Boston Celtics
The Celtics are the most successful team in basketball history winning a total of 17 NBA Championships, with their latest coming in 2008. From 1957 to 1969 the Celtics dominated basketball winning 11 championships in 13 years, eight of which came consecutively. This run has yet to be beaten in any of the four major American Sports. In 2008 the Celtics claimed their 17th title beating their fiercest rivals the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. The Celtics’ 2008/09 season started well but they trailed off towards the end when star power forward Kevin Garnett injured his knee and missed the post season after having surgery. Despite the injury to Garnett the Celtics made the play-offs but lost in the second round to the Orlando Magic, who would eventually go on to lose in the finals to the Lakers.
