The Jets have had a mixed history moving from Jersey to New York in the late 60’s and then back to Jersey in the late 70’s. Since being sold to new owners for $300 million in 2004 the club is planning to move back to Brooklyn New York.  The Nets’ most successful years were in 2002 and 2003 when they won the eastern conference finals twice, beating the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons, but would eventually fall to the Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs. The nets have tried to build on this success by signing high profile players to partner Jason Kidd, however even with the signing of Vince Carter the team couldn’t push on and lost in the play-offs to the eventual champions four out of five years.  The 2008/09 season the Nets finished out of the play-off places finished 5 games behind 8th seed Detroit.
