Founded in 1980, the Mavericks have won two division titles and one conference championship.  Dallas’ best season came in 2006 when they finished the season 67-15, the sixth best in NBA history. However they did not take heir dominant regular season form into the post season and in one of the greatest upsets in NBA history lost in the first round to the Golden State Warriors. During the 2009/2010 off season, team owner Mark Cuban re-signed Jason Kidd to a three year contract in a bid to win the franchise’s first ever NBA title.
