Cain able to dominate Rangers in World Series game two

Matt Cain once again put in the type of performance that, had Cliff Lee put in, people would have been calling him the best pitcher in baseball. The right-hander delivered 7 2/3 of shutout ball, struck out four and helped the San Francisco Giants take a commanding 2-0 series lead as they defeated the Texas Rangers 9-0 on Thursday night.

Giants get to Lee, take World Series game one

With Cliff Lee and Tim Lincecum on the mound in game one of the World Series you wouldn’t expect what transpired last night. Lee got hammered for six runs and Lincecum gave up four as the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants slugged it out at packed out AT&T Park. It was the Giants who claimed first blood in the series slugging their way to an 11-7 win, chasing Lee after just 4 2/3 innings.

NLCS Preview: Giants vs Phillies

Roy Halladay vs Tim Lincecum in game one is going to be one of the pitching match-ups of the year.
Halladay threw a no-hitter in his first ever play-off start and Lincecum threw a complete game shutout in his. They’re two of the game’s best pitchers and between them have three Cy Young Awards. If there’s one thing we’re expecting in game on it’s plenty on zeros on the scoreboard.
